This week at Fireflies we have been making Bouncy bunnies!
This is a great activity, and all the children have loved making them; they are great for children aged between 4-11, children younger than this might need a little help with the folded paper spring.
For this craft you will need:
- White card
- Coloured card
- Cotton wool
- Glue
- Colouring pens.
The first thing to do is to cut out your bunny shapes. For smaller children, you might want to prepare this in advance, as we do. Cut out a round circle of white card for your bunnies bottom, and a round circle with ears for your bunnies face.
Put a spot of glue on your bunnies bottom and add your cotton wool for his fluffy tail.
Using the colouring pens, decorate your bunnies face- use all your creativity and personalise your bunny!
Next you need to make your spring. Cut two long strips of coloured card. Glue the ends together so they form an ‘L’ shape
Once you have done this you need to fold the card together to make the spring. To do this, you fold the bottom piece of card over the top piece of card. Keep doing this until all your card is folded. ( for a video of how to do this, please have a look at our Instagram page) Glue the ends together so your spring doesn’t fly apart.
Glue your spring to your bunnies’ bottom and your bunnies’ face and you are done! Enjoy your bouncy bunnies!
