Mission statement

This statement outlines the services children, parents/carers, staff, and the community can expect from Fireflies childcare and the values that inform our work.

We aim to:

  • Create a friendly, relaxed, and safe environment where children can confidently express their individuality.

We will:

  • Provide activities which take into account equality and diversity, age and abilities.
  • In line with the School’s ‘Golden rules’, we will help children develop responsibility for themselves and their actions and become competent, confident, independent and cooperative individuals, and encourage children to have a positive attitude and respect for themselves and other people.
  • Promote a positive relationship with parents/carers and work with them to provide high-quality play and care for their children.
  • Evaluate and monitor our service regularly to ensure that the Club meets the needs of children and parents/carers.

We are committed to:

  • Listening and responding to their views and concerns.
  • Keeping parents/carers informed of our policies and procedures, including opening times, fees, and activities programmes.
  • Sharing and discussing their child’s achievements, experiences, progress and friendships, along with any difficulties that may arise.

We will provide:

  • Care and activities that put the needs and safety of children first.
  • Activities that are interesting, educational, stimulating and fun.
  • A space for children to relax and enjoy some quiet time after the school day.
  • Carefully planned and risk-assessed outings.
  • Access to a variety of facilities and equipment under safe and supervised conditions.
  • A staff team that is experienced, well-trained and adequately supported.
  • An environment where children are safe from bullying or discrimination in any form.
