Fireflies Stafford Breakfast and After School Clubs are a Breakfast club and after school club that is situated in Starlands at Stafford School. It caters for up to twenty four children, with a staffing ratio of 1:8.

We provide childcare for children aged between 4 and 11.

Stafford Breakfast club runs from 7:30am-8.30am. After School Club runs from the end of the school day, starting at 3pm and ending at 6pm, and we have a twilight session from 3pm-5pm.. Session costs vary- please check our booking service for up to date pricing.

Our club ethos is to create a friendly, relaxed, and safe environment where kids can be confident to express their individuality. We adhere to the session outcomes suggested by OFSTED; ‘stay safe, enjoy and achieve, economic wellbeing, being healthy, and positive contribution.’

The house is set up for the children to choose their own activities and socialise with their peers.

Timetable

Breakfast club is very fluid, the chidlren are offered a selection of breakfast when they arrive and then there is a chance for them to do some quiet table top activities before school.

The After School club starts with the children arriving at starlands. Here they choose a piece of fruit for their after school snack. They then have the chance to choose inside or outside activities, playing at the muga, in the garden or in the house with small table top activities, such as colouring, loom bands, toys, sewing, board games, puzzles etc, or outdoor play. There is also the opportunity for the children to do their homework, talk with staff, or read.

Food

At 5pm we have supper. This consists of a small, healthy meal, from a weekly menu. This includes meals such as beans on toast, spaghetti, sandwiches, etc.

A full menu is available on request, in line with Chartwell’s menu, to enable the children’s nutritional needs to be met. We allow our menu to be flexible, depending on the children’s preferences.

Throughout the session fresh fruit is available, and for those who choose not to eat the offered meal there is the alternative of toast and condiments.

We will also have an ’exotic taste’ section of supper time, where the children will be encouraged to try something that they haven’t had before – such as exotic fruits and vegetables (allergies and special dietary requirements will be taken into consideration). Parents will also be asked to provide a packed tea for any children who have special dietary requirement.
